Entrol, the manufacturer of EASA and FAA certified FNPT, FTD, and FFS flight simulators, has successfully installed a Bell 429 FTD Level 2 simulator for the Tunisian National Guard. The project, conducted in collaboration with Amentum, a renowned U.S.-based government and aerospace services provider, was part of a public tender. This installation reinforces Entrol’s standing as a key provider of specialized simulators for critical mission training.

A simulator tailored to the Tunisian National Guard’s needs

The Bell 429 FTD 2 has been specifically designed to replicate the exact configuration used by the Tunisian National Guard in their daily operations. Equipped with a 200ºx40º cylindrical visual system and a database featuring key Tunisian airports such as Tunis-Carthage (DTTA) and Enfidha-Hammamet International (DTNH), the simulator offers an immersive and realistic training experience. Additionally, customized training zones have been developed to reflect the specific mission environments that the National Guard operates in.

Advanced mission training for critical operations

The Bell 429 FTD 2 is equipped with a range of advanced features that enhance mission training realism. These include a Forward-Looking Infrared Camera (FLIR), initial Night Vision (NVIS) capability for nighttime operations, formation flying, and a vibration system that simulates real-flight conditions. These tools provide the Tunisian National Guard with a vital resource to enhance their skills in complex and critical operations.

“We are thrilled with the success of this project, which was specifically tailored to the needs of the Tunisian National Guard,” said Luis Olarte, CEO and Founder of Entrol. “Working alongside Amentum, we’ve delivered a solution that will improve mission safety and effectiveness. With this installation, Entrol continues to expand its portfolio of specialized simulators.”

Guaranteed delivery and support

The project was completed with a five-year warranty and maintenance plan, ensuring long-term operational reliability. Furthermore, an additional maintenance training course will be conducted six months after installation to ensure the simulator’s optimal performance over its lifetime. This approach guarantees that the Tunisian National Guard will have the resources and support needed to maintain their simulator and enhance their training programs
